Artist Bio
Troy Ayers (American, born 1966)
The brevity of life is the underlying theme of the art of Troy Ayers. He is interested in
the sacred balance of life and death and shows refined imagery through his paintings.
He works in oil, typically on wooden, aluminum, or copper panels. Troy juxtaposes
realism with primitive mark making for an innately moving experience for the viewer,
recalling mankind’s basic need to create art while also appealing to its more
distinguished tastes for finishes. His brushstrokes range from very loose and gestural
to controlled and lifelike in the same work to achieve this combination.
Troy received his degree from the Art Institute of Atlanta and furthered his studies at the
University of North Georgia. He is currently employed in art field in Northeast
Georgia.
